Getting Started

This guide walks through the first things to do after your Shoplogix system is deployed and hardware is installed.

Step 1 — Log Into Shoplogix IMS

Go to https://ims.shoplogix.com and sign in with the credentials provided during onboarding. If you haven't received login credentials, contact your Shoplogix account team.

Step 2 — Verify Your Hardware Is Online

Before reviewing sensor data, confirm your Evergateways and Eversensors are online.

Check Gateways:

  1. In Insights, navigate to Gateways
  2. Each gateway should show an Online status
  3. If a gateway shows Offline, check its power and network connection; contact your account team if the issue persists

If you are deploying hardware for the first time, see Gateway Pairing & Sensor Installation for how to register new gateways and associate sensors with assets.

Check Sensors: In Insights, navigate to Sensors (or Steam Traps / Machines depending on your product). Each asset should show recent data (within the last few minutes).

Step 3 — Configure Your Assets

For Steam Trap Monitoring

Each steam trap should have these values set before analytics produce meaningful results:

FieldWhy It Matters
Operation typeControls whether unexpected cold alerts fire (Continuous, Seasonal, or Intermittent)
Orifice diameterRequired for cost-of-steam calculations
Inlet PSIRequired for cost-of-steam calculations
Seasonality datesRequired if operation type is Seasonal

You can set these in Insights on each trap's detail page. For the full list of trap fields including trap type, application, pipe size, and physical details, see Steam Trap Configuration.

If you are deploying many traps at once, use the Bulk Installation CSV import to create all trap records in a single upload.

For Machine Health Monitoring

Each machine needs alarm thresholds configured before the platform can issue alerts:

  1. Open the machine in Insights
  2. Set vibration threshold levels (Warning, Critical, or custom levels)
  3. Optionally adjust the process state threshold if the default (0.508 m/s) doesn't match your equipment

See Configuring Alarm Thresholds for guidance.

Step 4 — Set Up Notifications

Configure which alerts you receive in Insights → Notifications:

  • Choose the event types you want to be notified about
  • Optionally enable the daily digest if you prefer a single summary email over individual alerts
  • If you want events delivered to your own systems, set up a webhook subscription

Step 5 — Invite Your Team

If other team members need access, a Customer Admin or IT Admin can invite them in Insights → User Management. Assign the appropriate role for each person's responsibilities.

See User Management & Access Control for role descriptions.

Step 6 — Review Your First Data

Once sensors are online and assets are configured, return to the dashboards to review:

  • Steam Trap dashboard — confirm traps are in Good condition or investigate any that are already flagged
  • Machine Health dashboard — review current alarm states
  • Cost of Steam metrics — verify that traps with orifice diameter and inlet PSI configured are showing steam loss estimates
